>Er, I don't think anyone answered your Qs. Yup I noticed I was just flooded with offers of help ;-] >The problem is NOT the P16PRO40. Its Microsoft. When you switched from >98SE to Win2K, Windows no longer allows control of the I/O pins. PICALLW >won't work on Win2K (never did for me). I tried it briefly on the 2K machine but between the 3.3vdc and having a weird permissions error I quickly gave up and have just been trying to get it to behave on the 98SE laptop. >I always use an old DOS166 for PICALL and P16PRO40. Still works fine, of >course. Well I am hoping I can get this P16Pro sorted out and stable again. It just programs too many pic and others to toss in the bin. I won a new unused Picstart Plus on ebay this AM for the grand sum of $10 but that will be a few weeks before it gets here so I am thinking of getting one of Tony Nixons USB/serial programmers which looks like it does everything the P16Pro did and more including the 10F's !! The real puzzling part is that I did not smell even a tiny wiff of smoke so I know I didn't let any out of anything ;-] Cheers Dave _______________________________________________ http://www.piclist.com View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
