Perhaps you are right, I don't know, but for mass-production
you wouldn't use anonymous crystals, I'm sure. And for 
low-volume production or hobbyist use US$0.4 for brand 
crystal wouldn't break budget, I think. 
US$0.4 is the local price here for SS4 (HC49/U4H) type of 
crystals from Jauch Quartz GmbH www.jauch.de
