(BIMBW) My convention, and one which I do not reall having seen inverted, is B for byte and b for bit. The problem is using the same symbol for two different variables. IF this was an SI unit then both would be "b" (there having been no Mrs Byte or Miss Bit that this was named after) so one would have a different symbol or symbo pair. eg By or Bi > Thank you all for listening , that's much better now :-) No. It just gets worse.
