Well, I'll go back to my favorite set of current sensors - the ZM? xxx 
range from Zetex or similar from Philips or Honeywell sensors.

Also look at www.sentron.com   - although they kindly sent me the data 
sheet, they never replied to my request to purchase a development kit.

They have a US outlet - but their eval/dev kits are different.
