Hi, Is it possible to use those push switches which really do act like a toggle switch? Those found on equipment where u depress it to switch on, press again to switch off? Or have I misinterpreted your definition of microswitch? Btw, it might be helpful to the rest if you give us an idea of the currents involved.. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Daniel Chia "Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration." - Thomas Edison E-mail: danielcjh@yahoo.com.sg MSN: danstryder01@yahoo.com.sg ICQ: 37878331 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > -----Original Message----- > From: piclist-bounces@mit.edu [mailto:piclist-bounces@mit.edu] On Behalf Of John > Waters > Sent: 01 September 2004 13:53 > To: piclist@mit.edu > Subject: [EE]: toggle switch circuit to turn a motor ON/OFF > > Hi All, > > I need to turn ON or OFF a small 12V d.c. motor using a micro-switch, but > the requirement is, the micro-switch must be operating like a toggle switch, > i.e. when the micro-switch is pushed (and released immediately) once, the > motor will be turned ON, it will remain ON and will only be turned OFF when > the micro-switch is pushed (and released) again. > > I know a micro-switch alone will not be able to do this, I may need some > relays or other components working together to achieve this, but I don't > want complicated circuits that require a stable power supply, I just want to > use some simple passive components (and relays) to do this. > > I would appreciate if any one could suggest such a circuit or method. > > Thanks in advance. > > John > > _________________________________________________________________ > Scan and help eliminate destructive viruses from your inbound and outbound > e-mail and attachments. > http://join.msn.com/?pgmarket=en- > ca&page=byoa/prem&xAPID=1994&DI=1034&SU=http://hotmail.com/enca&HL=Ma > rket_MSNIS_Taglines > Start enjoying all the benefits of MSNR Premium right now and get the > first two months FREE*. > > _______________________________________________ > http://www.piclist.com > View/change your membership options at > http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist _______________________________________________ http://www.piclist.com View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
