Another thing that struck me about theese lead free solders:

The best of them greatly outperforms leaded solder in thermal/mechanical stress, and I *believe* (somebdy have data?) that they are:
o superior in heat transfer
o lower electric resistance

All of theese three are great benefits in power electronics :)

Downside is more aging of the components during soldering at higher temperature...  On the other hand this might drive development to more heat tolerant components so the total life actually increases...
