When those were first introduced it was a very different world. There was nothing like the processing power of a PIC inside of those. There was no processor inside, unbelieveable as that sees now. There was a very small handful, of very expensive at the time, SSI TTL that implemented the entire Tek escape code set. And then there was the power supply and the storage tube jug, from the scope division.
