One can dream. This is a question I've long had. With the small but growing number of Internet billionaires, and rogue nations willing to spend whatever it takes to achieve military supremacy, why haven't any of these characters done some real research into fusion energy? Rather than taking over with guns, take over with ultra-cheap energy technology. I suspect it would be rather more effective, and could make a number of the mega-rich into something even more than that. Of course, it may be for the best that none of THEM have hit upon this idea.
