My designs don't often require time keeping but I now have a project
where I need to perform several tasks at certain times of the day and
certain days of the month. The Maxim/Dallas DS-1302 looks like it will
meet my needs without a lot of extra frills. Cost is less than $1.50
so it's not a budget problem either.

Anyone have good or bad experiences with this part? Are there better
options to consider in your experience? (I don't have precise real
time needs, a signal to interrupt the PIC isn't needed.)
