If you go to the Microchip site *right now* and search for "MPASM" you will find a download named "MPASM Assembler" dated 7-21-03 that does not support the new 16Fxxx series. It is a standalone version. I found a more updated one off Google. If you don't believe me, go download it for yourself! But, thank you any way for the information. Very much appreciated. -----Original Message----- From: pic microcontroller discussion list [mailto:PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU] On Behalf Of Jan-Erik Soderholm Sent: Friday, August 20, 2004 2:16 AM To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU Subject: Re: [PIC:] Assembler Zack wrote : > Hello All: Hi and good morning (or whatever...) > I'm looking for an assembler for PIC for Windows. - Goto www.microchip.com - Click "Development Tools" from the "Products" menu to the left. - On next screen, click "Software". - On next screen, Click "MPLAB. IDE v6.60 and v6.61" There you are ! Use v6.60 (skip the v6.61 "Interim Release"). > I think most people use MPASM,... Well, MPASM is one of the tools that MPLAB calls "under the hood" to build your application. Normaly you don't bother, MPLAB will handle everything for you and call MPASM (and other tools) when needed. > but it doesn't support the 16Fxxx series (except for 16F83/4). He he, it would be *very* interesting to see the source of *that* piece of information !! > Anyone have a good one they can share?
