Yes, schottky is the clear choice at this voltage and considering a few 10s of mA reverse leakage wouldn't cause any trouble here. However, there is one more good reason for using a schottky diode. It has essentially infinitely fast reverse recovery. That can be a big issue with silicon diodes that take several amps.
