Just get CCS or another C compiler. I use PHP a lot in my job and learning C for PICs was less than a challenge. PHP is more or less C syntax, just like JavaScript, and many other languages. The only thing that's different is PIC C compilers don't have all the crap you wouldn't be able to use that PHP has.
