Walmart has a pretty good selection, reasonably price at $5-$10 each. Some disassembly required :-) The problem with this type of part is that its made by the millions, but only sold by the millions. Further they are not designed for easy prototyping, so selling them one at a time makes little sense. Are the small ones sold by digikey (with through hole pin mounting) too big?
