If Jack Kilby had actually invented the JK flip-flop, it'd be perfectly reasonable -- although immodest, and out of character -- for him to name it after himself. Even if he had, though, it'd be nonsensical for him to also name the circuit's INPUTS after himself. My position is unchanged: It's most logical that the JK flip-flop -- like the RS flip-flop -- got its name from the labels given to its inputs, and it's unreasonable to imagine that those "J" and "K" labels stand for "Jack" and "Kilby"... No matter WHAT some kid at TI Tech Support can find on the web and report as fact. -Andy === Andrew Warren - aiw@cypress.com === === Principal Design Engineer === Cypress Semiconductor Corporation -- http://www.piclist.com hint: To leave the PICList mailto:piclist-unsubscribe-request@mitvma.mit.edu
