Hello, I am making temperature sensors with an IC sensor enclosed in a 6 foot piece of 1/2" diameter stainless steel pipe. I need an epoxy to fill the pipe to protect the sensor, displace moisture, etc. I have been checking prices on potting epoxies and it seems they are considerably more expensive and difficult to locate than the standard hobby shop variety, especially when only needing approximately 1/2 gallon. I am looking for opinions on whether I should go for the potting epoxy for an application like this or whether the standard variety epoxy would suffice. The sensors will spend long periods of time (months to years) at temperatures of approximately 200 degF. Thanks for any ideas.
