It is MUCH slower than a real oscilliscope. (20kHz vs ~100MHz), and it presumably lacks any degree of precision. Also, I believe the inputs are AC coupled, which means it's not so good for DC or near-DC waveforms. But it's better than nothing for appropriate (slow) waveforms like audio, IR Remote control waveforms, or even low speed async comm.
