You might want to try some performance metrics to see which approach is faster if speed is absolutely paramount. As I mentioned in my original reply to you, I would go to MSDN (Microsoft Developer's Network http://msdn.microsoft.com/) online to get the latest information on these and other Win32 API functions. I'm not sure if they have a list like you want but at least you might be able to archive an HTML list of the functions from the site.
