*** SUPERB *** Another "superb" site (if you need it)(I do). Ever tried to sort out what all those running Windows tasks do? Wondered which are legitimate and which are spyware, trojans and the like? Here's a list that will help. It lists the names and brief description of the functionality and necessity of about 1800 Windows programs / tasks / http://arnado.com/startup/startup2.asp?qLetter=A Change the last character to see other pages. (A .. Z, 0 .. 9, @ and a few other characters) Couldn't find a top level page for this. Entirely useable as is. No list is perfect. No doubt some entries are wrong. There's also always the risk of being mislead by a new trojan. But this is by far the most comprehensive list I've ever seen. And it's free. As a bonus, it may alert you to some useful utilities. ____________________________________________________ Here's a very small sample: ScanRegistry scanregv.exe Definitely not required Added as a result of the MASTERLOCK VIRUS!.
