Here's one difference that I have noticed personally, but I *really* asked for this one: The Master SPI Bus Engine and Master I2C/SMBus Engine projects that I developed using HI-TECH's PICC Lite v8.02PL1 used 2048 and 2047 program memory words, respectively, on the target PIC16F877A. Unfortunately, with PICC Lite v8.05, both projects won't compile because it's telling me that I'm exceeding 2048 program memory words. I have not done any tweaking yet to see if I can work around this without changing the source code. Like I said, I asked for this -- I shot myself in the foot -- that's what I get for living on the edge. No biggie -- I have a contingency plan. My advice to you: always archive all versions of PICC Lite on your local hard drive. That's what I do. You never know when you need to go retro!
