Good day to all. I'm working on another low cost project that requires an isolated 5V or so 40 mA or so power supply. Input DC supply will vary between 5V to 30V. I'm playing with a simple concept: use a switch mode supply configured to supply a constant current. The isolated output winding is rectified and filtered, then clamped with a 5.1V zener. I've got power to burn - an extra couple of hundred milliwatts is no problem. Regulation is not particularly important - just isolation and low cost. My question is: has anyone seen any app notes like this published anywhere? dwayne -- Dwayne Reid Trinity Electronics Systems Ltd Edmonton, AB, CANADA (780) 489-3199 voice (780) 487-6397 fax Celebrating 20 years of Engineering Innovation (1984 - 2004) .-. .-. .-. .-. .-. .-. .-. .-. .-. .- `-' `-' `-' `-' `-' `-' `-' `-' `-' Do NOT send unsolicited commercial email to this email address.
