It would be very nice to write my loader to be compliant with an existing program... That would save a lot of trouble :) Alternatively I have considered making my program capable of receiving on= e of the protocols supported by most serial systems like Xmodem and the lik= e. Do you have the explenation of the protocol written down yet ? I have developed a bootloader for 16F819 that uses less then 256 words and works very well. The bootloader and Windows downloader are ready but the documentation aren't. This is why I didn't released it yet. Let me see if I can upload it right quick so that you can get it. Done. Here's the link. http://kahuna.clayton.edu/~byron/pic/tinybld163.zip Let me know if you have any issues getting it. I see the following issues with converting Tiny to work with the 16F88 and the 16F819: 1) The parts require row erase of memory before rewriting. 2) The boot vector will have to be erased and rewritten. 3) The Tiny firmware doesn't protect itself. One reason why it's so tiny! BAJ -- http://www.piclist.com#nomail Going offline?
