Mike, > Be careful if you try to use a USB to RS232 adapter and a Pocket PC. I have yet > to see a Pocket PC that's a USB host. I saw references to a few PocketPC's that support a USB Host. I saw Toshiba and a couple of other manufactures mentioned. I expect PocketPC driver support is lacking so it may not help much unless I feel up to learning the PocketPC driver DDK. I can use the FTDI virtual COM port drivers under Windows to communicate to a PIC device containing the FTDI chip. Unfortunately, I doubt that FTDI makes PocketPC drivers for their USB-to-serial chip. I may need to investigate how to convert RS-232 levels to communicate with the 3V serial I/O logic of the PIC16. I deleted my PICList emails earlier today so I missed the "Communication Between PIC and PC" thread you mentioned. Maybe it'll show up in the archives soon. -Ed -- http://www.piclist.com#nomail Going offline? Don't AutoReply us! email listserv@mitvma.mit.edu with SET PICList DIGEST in the body
