There are a lot of reasons to hire older talent in any endeavor. They are not looking for a better job all the time. They are better able to tell you the truth instead of what you want to hear. Many times they have such a wad of experience that it is really hard to show them a problem they have not seen before. They are more inclined to take the safest way available in any instance. They have nothing left to prove, they focus on doing a good job. In the matter of decision making they tend take a little longer to make sure they have the right decision.
