But I reiterate that Python for Linux is both a standard install and stable enough to get the job done. The original poster asked if Xwisp will work under Linux. The answer is that it will with very minor changes. In fact let me test it right quick. [5 virtual minutes pass...] OK I'm back. It worked fine for me untouched. Only a minor bad interpreter problem with the #!/usr/bin/python. But python xwisp.py had no complaints. Just as I expected. I noticed that xwisp doesn't use pyserial. So that issue never came up.
