Cool - surely these things are designed according to a standard of sort as you can buy these mini usb cables from computer supply stores as replacements for lost/stolen/broken ones. Do you know where such standards would be published? Any help appreciated :) -----Original Message----- From: pic microcontroller discussion list [mailto:PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU] On Behalf Of Josh Koffman Sent: Thursday, June 17, 2004 6:16 PM To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU Subject: Re: [OT]: Mini USB - Motorola MPX-200 You need to do a bit more investigation on the unit itself to figure out what kind of USB support it has. Many of these devices are USB clients, which means they can only talk to a Host (ie a computer). If you try to hook it up to another client (say a digital camera) it won't work. Similarly you can't just connect 2 hosts together, you need a special circuit sitting in the middle. There is a new standard called USB to Go that allows a device to act as both a client and a limited Host depending on what it's connected to.
