i agree people should wear seat belts, i don't agree that it should be legally enforced. i don't think you can or should even have the government trying to protect people from being stupid. to an extent, it's evolution in action, and it's never, never pretty to watch but in the long run it's a good thing. now your friends and loved ones, by all means, try and encourage them to be less stupid about safety, but in the end if they insist on stupidity, let them, and hope they get lucky. the government is not my friend or loved one, they have no business even suggesting what i should do to live long and prosper.
