At 1500W you could easily toast the detector. That's why the state police didn't set up on the highway between Seattle and the Boeing plant. Too many fried radar guns from the 'off spec' magnetrons that techs would stuff under the hood of their vehicles, and turn on when the spotted a patrol car.
