I am in th esoutheastern US. I can understand your disbeleif in their lack of
support for the resistors.  ( as well as other parts for the hobbyist) it
seems that like a lot of other businesse they tend to forget that they are
cutting off the heads that feed them. Radio shack in particular was built around
hobbyist and amateir radio operators who bought kits and parts regularly.
Although I am disapointed that they are getting away form the stuff I use.  I have
neer gotten a bad part from them.  I must admit though that their lack of
support for the hobbyist and small parts user has driven me away from them and a
regular customer of which I have been for over 25 years.

Think about it.  WHO is going to Radio Shack to buy a TV or  Home
Electronics.   Hello Walmart, Circuit City, and Best Buy.  If Radio shack thinks they are
going to compete with these guys then I defintely am not intersted in their
stocks
