It turns out that if a single item in a multi-part sample request is "backordered" (I think the samples department and SEs get low priority and perhaps an allocation), it will hold up your whole request. I had ordered 4 parts, and contacted my "official" company rep when they were delayed. She got me the parts except for one that was "delayed" - sure enough, I got email from her and from the sample program at the same time, saying that the request had finally shipped and that the parts were in... There doesn't seem to be a way to cancel sample orders, so I wound up with more than I expected :-) (This implies that if you need samples FAST, you should only request one type per request, or talk to a local rep. That's sort of annoying from a shipping efficiency point of view, but I guess that's microchip's problem, and I'm not really going to criticize a generous sampling program very much :-) BillW -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The list server can filter out subtopics (like ads or off topics) for you.
