My Tek THS720 battery is over $100, also 4.8v 2800mAh.

I replaced the individual cells for about $25 total. The 2800 mAh are
considered extra capacity, standard capacity is 2200 mAh, those you can
get in high temp or quick charge versions, all from Sanyo.

BTW, there's probably a polyfuse embedded in there somewhere.
