According to our board house -- right from disti onto boards. They also get a bulk erase before writes. >Did you reprogram the chips on the boards once you corrected them with the Picstart? Not yet. Good idea though. I'll give it a shot first thing in the morning. Greetings, Let me setup the scenario quickly: - production boards using F877A - 10 MHz crystal - RB6 and RB7 connect to nothing other than ICSP connection - MCLR diode separated from VDD, 4.7K resistor ( I know this is low but I have also tried values all the way up to about 47K) My first 100 or so boards programmed with the ICD2 without incident. Out of my last batch of 50, 8 boards would not program using the ICD2. So, I desoldered the F877A, stuck it into my PICSTART +, verified it was hosed, erased and programmed it, put it back into the production board and presto -- works fine. Done this with 4 of the boards. Saving 4 to analyze. I've gone over the boards with a fine toothed comb and found nothing different from the working boards. I've scoped the 877A during programming and all levels look good. The data and clock from the programmer are nice and sharp. If anybody has seen something like this and / or has any sage advice, I'm all ears. This one has me stumped! Bill -- http://www.piclist.com#nomail Going offline?
