I've used PICs for costuming projects for kids and family and such.
I've already mentioned the flaming pitchfork.  More recently, I built
the electionics for a couple of SIMs cosutumes.

Truth be told, it seems that only the "fun" projects are getting
finished.  While there are other things in various stages of EE and/or
SW development, only the little fun projects have actually reached the
stage where I can say "this is DONE enough to be useful."  Sigh.
