Au contrair, MOST cheap wireless links are good for at least 2400bps, which
is enough to get a compressed voice channel over.

Personaly I think this is blatantly false advertising, and the OP has every
right to be annoyed that he bought the modules on the strength of an
advertised feature that does not exist.  Compound that with the apparent
lack of interest from their customer service and I know I'd not be feeling
very charitable toward them.
