Ah, but palmtop displays keep getting bigger.  That might be more
workable.

Another posisbility is that more and more video cards have composite
video outputs.  I don't know what a VGA+ display output on video to a 6
inch LCD monitor (DVD player) would look like, but you could probably
do SOMETHING useful...
