CAN is used for a lot of the North American companies. If you are looking to talk to the ECU, information is pretty hard to come by - especially if you are looking to modify ECU parameters. Nissan for example uses the Consult protocol, which isn't released publically. OBD-I/II will help you obtain readings, but you won't be able to change any parameters since it's used for diagnostics. > -----Original Message----- > From: pic microcontroller discussion list > [mailto:PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU]On Behalf Of Joe Jansen/TECH/HQ/KEMET/US > Sent: Thursday, May 27, 2004 3:35 PM > To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU > Subject: Re: [EE:] Automobile Interfacing > > > I don't know a lot about automobile circuits however, I do know that CAN > Bus (Controller Area Network) is popular for automotive applications. > Google on Can Bus for many hits... > > > --Joe Jansen > > > > pic microcontroller discussion list wrote on > 05/27/2004 03:27:59 PM: > > > Hello all > > > > I'm interested in researching some automotive circuits however my > > searches thus far have yielded nothing.
