I purchased an ICD2 from www.sparkfun.com they are a distributor for olimex, and they are based out of Colorado (I think). I've had great luck with all of their stuff. The ICD2 is ~$94 and is the same as Microchip's. The only difference I've seen is the use of a 6-pin header (Olimex) instead of the modular telephone connector (Microchip). Depending on the chip you may be able to use the ICD1 also available from Olimex (~$35). It is still supported using MPLAB v5.7 but not in v6.x. I'm using it right now with a 16f877A, and it works like a champ. -----Original Message----- From: pic microcontroller discussion list [mailto:PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU] On Behalf Of Samuel BOUQUET Sent: Wednesday, May 26, 2004 2:41 PM To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU Subject: Re: [PIC]: Wanted Microchip ICD2 Go and see at www.olimex.com There is another solution: build your own ICD2!
