Is there any writing at all on the fax? Maybe you could tell from the language, although if it is English pretty much every county speaks it. How are you so sure the clock is correct? (Hull in the UK has a 01482 code) Brian. http://www.qualityelectronicdesigns.com -----Original Message----- From: pic microcontroller discussion list [mailto:PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU]On Behalf Of Shahid Sheikh Sent: 27 May 2004 11:19 To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU Subject: Re: ] How can I find who sent me this fax? Not in UK. And I don't subscribe to the dial back last number service. Besides, the fax has been real busy this morning. As for IDs, the lines that I have caller-id service enabled on do often get the number for international calls as well. OK, so if you live in the UK and this was the last FAX, can you dial 1471 to find out the number? I know some international calls don't send their ID, but it's worth a try. Why not send them a fax back to the same number and ask them? This is way OT but since there are so many smart dudes (and dudettes) on here, I figure I ask anyway. I got a fax a while ago which terminated just as the header showed up. The number on it is 014826xxxx (where the x's are the trailing 4 digits.) Timestamp indicates its from a country with GMT+2 time zone. The time does seem to be set correctly on the sending fax. Don't have caller-id or any other info. Can you think of a way I can tell which country this was from? Just am curious where this fax was from (and of course if I do find out I want to ask the sender to resend it.)
