They become your ISP (Internet Service Provider) since they are
providing the internet connection.  They do not, typically, provide an
email address though, so you will have to find another service for that
(many free available).

So using them, you don't have to have another ISP - you could just pay
their fees.  But they are much more expensive than a typical ISP, as
they charge by the hour/day/month for (typically) high speed service.
