I had some problems to start with but it all works ok now. uncheck "LOW VOLTAGE PROGRAM ENABLE" or pull portb.5 low After changing xtal programmed type from xt / hs / h4pll the power needs to be cycled. you need to watch capitalisation on things because its using mplab instead of PM for the assembler. e.g. DEFINE OSC 40 < must be capitals.
