I am designing a new circuit for a hobby project and am thinking about a couple of new concepts, however I can't find the "yes, this is how youdo it" answers I'd like... I want to do ICSP, is this simply a case of providing a header to the programming pins, or am I mistaken? The PIC I am using (16F876a) has enough pins spare that I can afford not to reuse the pins for IO... Along these lines I am thinking of using LVP, if I have a switch to set the LVP pin to the right state, can my tait style programmer accomplish this? If it can't how should I isolate the MCLR\ (tied to Vdd for normal use) when I go to program? will a diode(pointing towards MCLR\) to the trick or will the voltge drop confuse the issue?
