Why on Earth would anyone want a lava lamp, or a light fixture that's more than a bare bulb and diffusing element, or paint their walls anything but off-white, or have a table that's not just a sheet of particle board across 2 sawhorses? It's a decorative element, and a rather unique one. With my subliminal clock, people often don't notice it (or at least don't say anything) when they first see the column of lights Eventually they catch the effect out of the corner of their eye as they turn their head. Then their reaction is classic when they see the time printed across the room in 4" numbers. Most people seem to really like it once I explain what's going on.
