WheelFX tried this a couple of years ago in the CART series. I didn't think much of it actually, as the viewing angle is quite narrow and you need to be just about perpendicular to the car to see it. I haven't seen it in action since 2001 http://www.eurovestech.co.uk/portfolio/adflash.htm "The technology has since been proven to enable sponsor's names and logos to light up on the wheels of cars as they race the Formula 1 and CART circuits" but I'm still skeptical about it being easily visible on those cars. Even with the many cameras at CART events it was not common to see the "Toyota" in Fittipaldi's wheels. On the outside of the wheel would be better, not tucked away inside near the brake discs, but then you have a problem when changing wheels at pit stops http://home.clear.net.nz/pages/joecolquitt/wheelfx.html I definitely haven't seen it in F1 ever, seen every race since 2001, and happen to be watching Monaco right this very minute, no sign of it -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The PICList is archived three different ways.
