There used to be a compiler for Lotus spreadsheets called Baler. I still have a copy of Baler in the basement. We built extremely complex spreadsheets with macros and lookup tables in those days. This is theoretically possible in Excel, but the VB macro stuff has never been as easy to implement for me as good old Lotus 123 macros. In 123, if you recorded a set of keystrokes, you got those keystrokes. In Excel, if you record a set of keystrokes, you get some other keystrokes. Try this: record "find xyz". Excel finds a cell with xyz. Play the macro back, and excel just goes to that cell blindly, never does a search. Useless. -- Lawrence Lile "Francisco J. A.
