I'd just need it to work while I'm in front of the camera. One of the remotes I have (the Canon RC2) has two modes: take a picture when the button is pressed, and take a picture x seconds after the button is pressed. But I do like the idea of being able to have the remote always hidden, so I can always have the picture taken immediatley. So I guess I'll do an RF version. Any tips on how I can make the remote tiny (e.g. on the order of 2"x1"x.25")? the small size of the commercial IR transmitters would be my only reason for going with IR.
