i am also in australia and am interested in these modules who did you use for the local supplier? how much were they etc? i am looking at using them to make a radio type telephone/data/everything else setup, what did you have in mind for yours? -----Original Message----- From: pic microcontroller discussion list [mailto:PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU]On Behalf Of Lee McLaren Sent: Friday, May 07, 2004 6:34 PM To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU Subject: Re: [EE:] Laipac TRF-2.4G - Comments, experiences? Thanks Adam, I got a reply from Laipac yesterday and they told me to talk to the Australian distributor, It turns out they are only 1/2 hour drive from where I live and they had some just arrive so I now have 4 to play with. I will let the list know how I go. regards Lee McLaren -----Original Message----- From: pic microcontroller discussion list [mailto:PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU]On Behalf Of M. About the closest to 'online' purchase of these items is to email Laipac. The boards are marked TRW-24G, and if you search google on that term then you'll find that a company called Wenshing in Tiawan has a data sheet and example schematic (RS-232 to radio) for this device. http://www.wenshing.com.tw/English/prouducts_info.asp?bookbm=370 Shows the same device You may be able to purchase them directly from Wenshing - they have a non-working order button on the screen. Also, it's just a nordic nRF2401 chip with pcb antenna, so there may be other companies offering essentially the same thing, and if not you can buy the parts yourself and integrate it directly into your project. See the SAK2 project at MIT (there's a link to it in one of my other posts in this thread) for an example of a PCB with the nordic chip. As far as price, it's $15 a module from Laipac, but shipping is always next day air at $20, so you'll want to buy several at once to offset shipping. Also be aware that this module is small - the connector is 1.27mm dual row with 10 pins. I sacrificed a compactflash card for the connector (cut it up, get 3 or 4 ten pin connectors) but it isn't trivial to prototype with (it's a pain soldering those pins individually!). Good luck! Let us know what you find out. -Adam Lee McLaren wrote: >Are there any distributors for the TRF-2.4G, I would like to buy some on >line but it looks like Laipac don't offer that service. > >I had a look on Mouser and Digikey but they don't seem to list them. >I am in Australia so one in Australia would be good but don't mind >International. > >Does anyone have a rough price for the TRF-2.4G in lot less than 10? > > >regards > > >Lee McLaren > >-- >http://www.piclist.com hint: To leave the PICList >mailto:piclist-unsubscribe-request@mitvma.mit.edu > > > > > -- http://www.piclist.com hint: PICList Posts must start with ONE topic: [PIC]:,[SX]:,[AVR]: ->uP ONLY!
