Russell, Interesting pics! I saw a V.2 at the RAF museum at Hendon (North London, former Hendon Aerodrome) and although the nozzle looks pretty similar (from memory), the steering vanes were double-sided - the inside was in the engine exhaust (like "yours"), the outside part was in the airflow outside the body of the rocket. I put my hand out to confirm that it all moved together and was pounced on with "Don't touch the exhibits, please!" :-) I wonder which one was the later version? I have a photo of it somewhere, if only I can find which machine / disk / directory has it!
