Did you install Fedora from scratch or did you update? /Ake -----Ursprungligt meddelande----- Fr=E5n: pic microcontroller discussion list [mailto:PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU]F=F6r John J. Most of the other distributions look like they are intended for people who want to spend their lives being system administrators, and I expected Fedora to be the same. With only a few weeks experience, that doesn't seem to be the case. Looks like the only thing you miss with Fedora is the emails from Red Hat. The little blue/red dot at the bottom of the screen serves that purpose, up2date is the same, and the release seems to be a significant ratchet up from RH9. So far, I'm a happy camper. 72/73 de WB8RCR http://www.qsl.net/wb8rcr didileydadidah QRP-L #1446 Code Warriors #35 ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dipperstein, Michael" To: Sent: Wednesday, May 12, 2004 6:19 PM Subject: [OT:] Migrating From Red Hat Linux 9.0 > I know that there are a fair amount of Linux users here, and I'm hoping that > somebody has already gone through this exercise. > > I've been using Red Had 9.0 on my PC at home and I have been pretty happy about > the distribution, however Red Hat stopped providing updates for it on May 1st, > so I'm looking for a new distribution to install. > > I'd like the migration to be as painless as possible, and I'd like the > distribution to be one that is actively updated with the latest bug fixes and > security patches.
