Your auto supply probably has some replacement bulbs made from LEDs. Although when I tried some, I discovered that the polarity on my brake lights is reversed! B.G.Micro sometimes has some good prices on bright LEDs, but it's somewhat variable. DigiKey has some assemblies of multiple bright LEDs in bayonet mounts, but they are no cheaper than the auto supply. Their price on single LEDs seems a tad high to me. Dayton is coming up, last year I bought a fistful of bright white cheap there. Dunno where in Canada you are but a couple days ago I saw a note from someone coming from Toronto or maybe Montreal, don't recall, down through Windsor looking for riders. 72/73 de WB8RCR http://www.qsl.net/wb8rcr didileydadidah QRP-L #1446 Code Warriors #35 ----- Original Message ----- From: "James Tu" To: Sent: Monday, May 10, 2004 11:00 PM Subject: Re: [EE:] Source for bright LEDs > http://www.etronicstuff.com/ > > At 11:55 AM 4/22/2004, you wrote: > >Looking to replace the indicator lights on my car with LEDs (why? because I > >can... :) ). > > > >Anyways, I tried some of the LEDs available locally to me but they aren't > >bright enough. > > > >Anybody know of a CHEAP source of BRIGHT red and orange LEDs? > > > >I'd love to use white LEDs (MAN are they bright) but that's just too > >expensive. > > > >Prefer T1-3/4 size (5mm).
