Um, ok. What the hell? I know what I posted, but I sent out another post replacing the typo "my" with simply rs232 drivers. Perhaps you/he should have read that email as well, especially before criticizing and replying with this: >Slow down.....Read the posts.......... Understand .....Then reply, >If, and only if you have anything constructive to say? I never mentioned that there was anything on my site, nor did I post a link outside of what's in my typical signature. If you're going to mindlessly criticize my reply, perhaps you should do the same of his question. What am I supposed to say to someone that simply says, Hey, all I get is your web page at your site, what am I doing wrong? Had he inlined the original message, then at least I would have realized that he didn't get the previous correction, otherwise, I have no idea what he's asking. FWIW: My suggestion was to take as many RS232 drivers (max232/233) as you have external "remotes", tie the outputs to the "remotes" and all the inputs to the single pic driving the whole lot. If you do this, then you should have enough signal coming from the pic to drive the input side of the drivers (good old ttl) and the drivers should have enough power to run all the remotes. Think of it like this: A, B, C, D = rs232 drivers (max232/233) PIC (master pic) | -------------------------- | | | | (input side) A B C D (driver chips) | | | | (output side) remote1 remote2 remote3 remote4 Does that make sense? Basically what you're attempting to do, is cascase the load so that it's evenly distributed. You may also want to consider such things as how many loads you wish to ultimately drive, as well as the amount of power each individual driver can sink. If the cost of components is an issue, then you may not want to use a single driver per remote. But that will ultimately be determined by the amount of current the drivers can sink, and the amount drawn by the load. With luck that ascii art won't get scrambled.
