I don't know the F84 in detail, but there are some features in the 12F675 that could help you : - A +- 1% internal oscillator. Does the F84 have an (fully) internal osc at all ? - Wide operating voltage range, 2.0 - 5.5 V. Could help if battery powered. Does the F84 go down to 2.0 volts ? - Better timers then the F84. Two (8 + 16 bit) instead of one (8 bit). - Smaller size (of course :-) ). So if you actualy do have an 12Fxxx chip, and the available I/O pins are enough, yes, that is probably a better choice.
